Criteria for Most Improved & Player Of the Year

The KHPA officers in 2005 Ken Martin, Howard Reed and Monica Vaughan started recognizing the pitcher in each division that had the highest increase in ringer average during the previous 12 months . They also wanted to
recognize the person who pitched in the most tournaments each year.
After the first year it was determined that instead of the recognition for the most tournaments that we should change it to the pitcher of the year and change the criteria to look at number of tournaments pitched and factor in the
ringer average change. The criteria listed below is what is now used to determine who the award recipients are each year.

Criteria for KHPA Most Improved Award.

1. The second Natstat update in August of each year will be used to establish the results.
2. To be considered one must have pitched in at least 3 tournaments during that period.
3. In the event someone wasn't on natsats the previous year the average from the first tournament pitched in the award year will be the base from which the increase or decrease is determined.
4. In the event that pitching distance has changed the first tournament from the new pitching distance will be base from which the increase or decrease is established.

Criteria for KHPA Pitcher of the Year.

1. Pitcher of the year is the person out of all Kansas pitchers that has the highest score after totaling natstats change to number of tournaments pitched in the last year times .25( number tournaments pitched X .25 +
Natsats change = each members POTY number)
2. To be considered for this award one must have pitched in at least 3 tournaments in the last year
